Synovus Inaugurates New Georgia Office

The new building designed by Hendrick consolidates several of the financial services company’s branches across holistic interiors.

Atlanta-based design practice Hendrick has revealed its design of the new Synovus building in downtown Columbus, Georgia. Consolidating several branches of the financial services company for the first time, the hub is crafted to embody a new level of sophistication for the business, manifesting in motifs of motion and momentum. Through comprehensive design services including workplace strategy, change management, interior design, and environmental graphics, Hendrick instills an atmosphere of transparency and connection to promote mentorship, communication, and an entrepreneurial spirit. “We really tried to get to know this organization and its people so we could help create an environment that captures that spirit,” says Hendrick managing principal Jennifer Treter.

With human centricity in mind, the new Synovus building emphasizes well-being and drives performance through holistic touches like natural materials, ergonomic furniture, and biophilia. In addition to social areas for collaboration, private areas of respite also support mental health along with abundant daylighting and outdoor terraces overlooking the Chattahoochee River. “They’re a very collaborative and social organization,” Treter adds.“We wanted to enhance that aspect at every step of the experience.”
